A very easy game that encourages counting skills. The 24 cards are placed on the table, with spot sides uppermost. Throw the die and then pick up a card with a matching number of spots on it. Turn the card over, and see how many little ladybirds are hiding on the leaf. Some leaves won't have any ladybirds on them, and sometimes there won't be any cards left with the same number of spots as on the die. At the end of the game, players have to count all their ladybirds, and the winner is the player with the most. Or you can make it even more exciting by waiting until all the cards have been picked up before turning them over to count the ladybirds. One player could also be nominated to count everybody's ladybirds at the end. As well as helping with counting and addition skills, this game also teaches observational and logic skills. It doesn't take too long to play, so will hold a child's attention throughout the game. The cards can also be used to play other games, such as 'Snap' or 'Pairs', or used for counting practice. There is also an educational guide on the box which shows how the game can enhance your child's education. The bright colours make this a visually appealing game, and the durable, recycled board with a wipe-clean finish means that the game will withstand plenty of use. It is suitable for 2 to 4 players.
